About Global LOCODE Hub
Global LOCODE Hub is an independent port and logistics data reference project. We aggregate, structure, and publish publicly available UN/LOCODE port data from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) into a searchable, freight-forwarder-friendly format.
Our Mission
The international logistics industry relies on standardized location codes — yet the official UN/LOCODE directory is published as a flat CSV file with no search interface, no filtering, and no enrichment. Global LOCODE Hub bridges this gap: we clean, deduplicate, and enrich the raw UNECE data with IATA codes, timezone information, port authority contacts, physical specifications, and trade intelligence — making it actionable for professionals who need accurate port data fast.
Data Sources
- UNECE UN/LOCODE Directory (unece.org/trade/cefact/unlocode) — the official United Nations location code database, updated periodically by member states.
- Port Authority Publications — official websites, tariff documents, and navigation notices published by individual port authorities.
- IMO GISIS (gisis.imo.org) — the International Maritime Organization's Global Integrated Shipping Information System for port facility data.
Who This Is For
- Freight Forwarders & NVOCCs: Verify port codes for bills of lading and shipping manifests.
- Customs Brokers: Confirm customs codes and entry requirements for international shipments.
- Supply Chain Analysts: Compare port infrastructure and trade lane connectivity.
- Trade Compliance Teams: Reference official location codes for import/export documentation.
- Logistics Technology Developers: Integrate structured port data into TMS, ERP, and visibility platforms.
Editorial Policy
All port data on this site is sourced from publicly available, official publications. We do not generate, fabricate, or estimate data. Every specification field includes a provenance trail to its source. Port data is reviewed and updated as UNECE publishes revisions and as port authorities release new information. We correct errors reported by users within 5 business days.
Funding & Independence
Global LOCODE Hub is an independent project. We are not affiliated with any port authority, shipping line, or logistics company. The site is supported by advertising and operated as a free public resource for the logistics community.
